Hello! I'm Courtney

Welcome! I am sooo glad you are here! My name is Courtney Jo, and I'm a mom of four kids and an adorable long-haired dachshund. (Any wiener-dog owners in the house?)

Freedom looks different for everyone. For some, it may just mean an additional few hundred dollars per month; for others, it may mean enough to replace a full-time job. Either way, this website exists to help you on your journey.

I started Freedom for Moms to help other moms find resources to start, scale, and/or grow an online businesses. I started this website because I wish I had known what work-from-home options existed nine years ago when I went through a divorce and was trying to figure out what work I could do and still be available for my kids.

I am passionate about showing other moms that need or want to make money that they can do it without leaving the house. No driving Uber or InstaCart necessary, which also means you don't have to leave your kids to do this work.

It is my hope that you feel at home around here and that you will find the right path that will allow you to make money from home so you don't have to sacrifice time with your kids.

    Fun Facts!

    My First Pet

My first pet was a cat named Hildy. I think she lived to be about 17 years old. She was that big and chill cat that never lost her cool.

    Favorite Beverage

Does coffee even need any explanation? One of my favorite moments of the day is when I take the first sip of my morning coffee. Why is coffee in the morning soo much better than the rest of the day?

    Favorite Book

I guess if I have to pick just one, I'm going with The Lord of the Rings, but other books I've loved in recent years includes The Lager Queen of Minnesota, Crossing to Safety, and Pride and Prejudice.

    Favorite Vacation Spot

Last summer, our family took a vacation to Mammoth Mountain in the Sierra Nevadas in Central California. I didn't know it was possible to see that many breath-taking views in one place, but apparently it is. All I know is that we can't wait to go back.

    Childhood Challenges

I was born with a defect in my knees which causes my knees to dislocate very easily. I had knee surgery when I ws five years-old that did nothing to fix it. This meant that any aspirations I had for sports wasn't going to happen. However, this challenge did lead me to explore other talents such as writing, so here I am!

    Random Talent

One of my random skills is that I know how to ready Classical Greek and Latin, which was my major in college.
