Why You Should Use the Divi Builder for Your Blog
1. It’s Drag and Drop (as in no coding necessary)

One of the reasons new bloggers are tempted to use Wix or Squarespace for their blog is because it is drag and drop.
With an amazing drag and drop builder like Divi, this temptation will quickly fade away.
In fact, I like to think of Divi as the Wix or Squarespace killer because it allows you all the ease of use these platforms offer but with so much more.
How easy is it to use Divi??
Want to move an image, a text block, or a button to another section of your page? Just grab it and move it to wherever you want it to go.
Want to change the size of any element? You can make a column, row, or any element bigger or smaller by grabbing the edge and expanding it to the size you want. All with the click of your mouse.
You can add more text to a text block directly to the page or post.
In fact, you can write an entire blog post on the front end of the page so you can know exactly what it’s going to look like while you’re writing it.
And . . . so much more!

2. The Ability to Customize

With the Divi theme builder, you have complete control over every element on your blog, down to the smallest detail.
Here are just a few of the many elements that you can customize:
Fonts
Divi offers more than 800 fonts that you can choose from that are pre-loaded into the system, and these fonts can be customized in so many ways. You can change the color, the size, the spacing, the weight (how bold or light it appears), and the style.
It’s also super easy to custom the design of the font styles when they are used as headings and subheadings.
Do you want your linked text, lists, or quotes to have different styles? That can be done with a click of a button, too.
Hover Styling and Effects
One of my favorite features is the ability to make elements look different when someone is hovering over it.
You can customize any element so it changes color or looks like it’s popping off the page with just a click of a button.
It takes an otherwise boring element such as an image or a button and turns it into a fun interactive experience for the user.
I also love how easy it is to customize the headers and footers with Divi. Not only can you change how the headers and footers look and function, but you can also change how they look and function depending on what page they are on.
So if I want my header to be a different color on blog posts, I can do that. If I want my header to stick to the top of the page as I scroll down, I can do that, too.
I can even remove the header and footer from pages where I don’t want it to appear.
For example, I like to create my own landing pages right on my website, and I also have my own link-in-bio page that I created with Divi. I don’t want a header or footer on these pages, which I’m able to remove with a click of a button. Love it!
I seriously could go on and on about all the ways you can customize your website with Divi, but hopefully, you get the picture.

3. The Layout Library

One of the most impressive features that come with the Divi theme is the Layout Library.
The Layout Library is a collection of Divi theme builder templates that are ready to use on your blog.
Divi has more than 200 layout packs that you can choose from.
These can be used in place of purchasing an additional child theme for your blog. And they have layouts for just about any business you can think of, including a few layouts designed for bloggers.
Here are a few that I think are good picks for bloggers:
- Food Recipes Layout
- Travel Blog Layout
- Fashion Blog Website
- Food and Nutrition Layout
- Influencer Layout (Good for Lifestyle bloggers)
- Blogger Layout
Check out the full library here.
Note: The layouts do not have to be used only for the purpose they were created for. They can all be customized however you want.

4. Custom Blog Post Layouts & Pages

WordPress comes with a default blog layout, but with Divi, you can customize your blog posts to have any layout you want.
You can also have custom blog post layouts for each category or even for a particular post.
Every single page, including your Home page, About page, Category pages, and more can all be customized to have the look and functionality you want and need.
The best part is that posts don’t need to be designed one at a time. You can actually create a template so that if you want to change an element on a blog post, it will be changed across the entire website. How cool is that?
5. The Divi Modules

One of the ways you are able to customize your blog with Divi is with the Divi Modules.
Here are just a few of the many things you can do with the Divi Modules:
- Email Opt-ins: One of the Divi modules I’m most grateful for is the Email Optin. With a few clicks, I can add an email opt-in to any page or post. And the best part is that it integrates seamlessly with more than 20 email marketing platforms. I love that I don’t need to buy an additional plugin to have this ability.
- Blog Module: Want your latest blog posts to appear on any page you want? This is done by adding the blog module. You can also decide what information you want to appear with the blog posts such as the author, date, category, excerpt, and more.
- Bar Counters and Circle Counters: Need to display skills or progress in a visual way? Add a Bar Counter or Circle Counter to your page or post.
- Post Slider: Want to display your blog posts in a post slider? This too can be added with the click of a button.
These barely scratch the surface of all you can do.
Other modules include Accordion, Audio, Blurb, Button, Comments, Contact Form, Countdown Timer, Social Media Follow, and many more!
6. The Divi Marketplace

If there’s an element you want that is missing from the list of Divi Modules such as an Instagram feed, a timeline, custom menus, overlays, and just about anything you can think of, there are so many options you can purchase in the Divi Marketplace.
For example, something I wanted recently was the ability to add custom tables to my blog posts so I could provide otherwise boring information in a visual way.
I went to the Divi Marketplace and found the Table Maker module, which allowed me to do exactly what I was trying to do.
Note: These do cost additional money, but the cost is typically very reasonable.
7. Divi Child Themes

If you want a design for a theme that you aren’t able to find among the free layouts from Divi, you have a lot of options.
Here are some of my favorite places to find Divi Child Themes, especially if you want a feminine blog theme:
If you still aren’t finding what you’re looking for, do a Google search for “Divi child themes” or “Divi femine themes.”
8. Divi Support

One of the things that’s tough about being an independent blogger is that you don’t have a team of developers to call upon when something breaks on your blog.
I would love to tell you that nothing will break, but the truth is things do.
But rest assured, Divi’s customer service is amazing. Every time I needed to reach out to Divi for assistance, they have always helped me until the problem was solved.
